IEC 61960 specifies the electrical tests and required characteristics of lithium rechargeable battery single cells and battery packs.

IEC 61960 (≈JIS C8711) test items that can be performed with the CD series and CDPU series

• Discharge performance (rated capacity) at 20 °C
• Discharge performance at -20 °C
• High magnification discharge performance at 20 °C
• High rate discharge performance at 20 °C
• Charge(Capacity) retention and recovery after a short-term (28 days) storage
• Charge(Capacity) recovery after a long-term (90 days) storage
• Cyclic test verification

These tests can be inspected using the CD series and CDPU series.
Other specifications for assembled batteries include measurement of internal resistance and electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing. (It is not possible to perform this test.)
