Electronic Loads Selection Chart
What is an Electronic Load?
An electronic load is a programmable instrument designed to test power sources, such as DC power supplies and batteries, by simulating various electrical load conditions. Unlike simple resistive loads, electronic loads utilize active semiconductor circuits to dynamically sink current and dissipate power. This architecture allows for precise, repeatable testing under multiple operating modes, including Constant Current (CC), Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Resistance (CR), and Constant Power (CP).
Key advantages over conventional resistive loads include: •Compact Footprint: Occupies significantly less bench or rack space compared to bulky resistive load banks. •Efficient Heat Management: Advanced thermal design ensures stable operation while simplifying heat dissipation requirements in test setups. •Simplified & Automated Testing: Capable of complex load simulations and sequence operations, eliminating the need for manual adjustments and data recording.
Matsusada Precision offers a comprehensive lineup of high-performance DC electronic loads and regenerative electronic loads (bidirectional power supplies). Our portfolio ranges from compact benchtop models optimized for R&D to high-power, rack-mountable systems designed for production testing. To meet demanding power requirements, booster units are available for capacity expansion on select models. All series feature standard communication interfaces, enabling seamless integration into automated test environments and multi-channel systems.
