Ozone (O3) is an allotrope of oxygen consisting of three oxygen atoms bonded together. It is used for sterilization and deodorization due to its strong oxidizing effect.

When ozone comes into contact with bacteria, viruses, or organic matter, it oxidizes the other party and returns to oxygen. Ozone is also used to sterilize medical equipment as a method of sterilization that does not leave behind any toxic residues. Ozone generators are also widely used in industrial settings for oxidation treatment of inorganic materials, static elimination, and dust collection.

Ozone has a distinctive odor and is toxic to the human body. When large amounts of concentrated ozone are inhaled, irritation is felt in the throat and trachea. Therefore, there is a safe level specification of ozone concentrations when ozone is used for static elimination or sterilization.

Ozone generator requires high voltages in the space between the electrodes with oxygen to generate a silent discharge. The produced electrons hit the oxygen molecules and separate them into atoms. Then, they are combined with oxygen molecules, oxygen atoms, and electrons, and finally, ozone is generated.

Established in 1978, Matsusada Precision confidently provides venerable high-voltage power supplies. We offer a broad lineup of high-voltage power supply benchtop/rackmount types, and modules integrated into ozone generators.
