Bomb detection systems are designed to prevent explosives and other dangerous materials from being brought into aircraft and other vehicles, as well as into buildings and facilities. There are liquid explosives and solid explosives, and for each, there is a device to inspect. These include X-ray inspection, spectroscopic inspection, and neutron-backscattering explosive detectors that detect explosives from gamma rays generated by neutron irradiation.
